Talk:Fernando Otero
I have recently discovered this musician and came to Wikipedia to find more about him, and was disappointed that there was nothing, given that he is releasing music with a serious record label (Nonesuch Records), and is attracting mainstream media attention in Britain at least, for example, http://arts.guardian.co.uk/filmandmusic/story/0,,2238759,00.html, and BBC radio. I know the article is thin, but I have been trying to find more information on him, which I will add when I find it - I've done this in the past. I'd like to stress I have no personal connection with Fernando Otero, as I know some people are given to starting articles in order to push their own agenda.
Looking at Wikipedia:Notability (music), I thought he qualified under Criteria for musicians and ensembles "5: Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).", but then I see he has only released 1 CD with Nonesuch, so if it comes to it, I can't complain if you go ahead and delete Gwaka Lumpa (talk) 22:52, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Based on what you've written here, I'm removing the speedy deletion tag. However, please make the article better, or find help from other Wikipedians to do so, otherwise the article, as it is now, will likely be deleted in the near future. If you need help, I'm sure there is a WikiProject that can help you. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance! Keeper | 76 23:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. I am trying to find some more information on him Gwaka Lumpa (talk) 23:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
What concerns me about this article is the tone. It sounds very much like the preamble to a lifetime achievement award presentation. I wonder if it could be made more detached and encyclopaedic. XL2D (talk) 17:53, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
