The Edmonton Chill is a professional basketball team in the International Basketball League. The Chill, coached by Paul Sir, is one of the most recent additions to the IBL and has begun play in 2008 [1] The franchise was revoked in August, 2008 after allegations of misconduct were filed with the league regarding Troy Barns, the majority shareholder in the team.
On January 27 2009 The Edmonton Chill were renamed to The Edmonton Energy. Eleven local business owners from Edmonton came together to keep the International Basketball League in Edmonton. Paul Sir will remain as Head Coach of The Edmonton Energy. All Edmonton Energy home games will be played at the Grant MacEwan College Sport And Wellness Center located in Downtown Edmonton.
