Lushin Dubey
Lushin Dubey- is an Indian stage actor and director.She directed ,acted and scripted many drama productions .Lushin is also known for her Solo plays Untitled [1] [2] Pinki Virani's Bitter Chocolate with theatre director Arvind Gaur [3] She also Acted in Partition (2007 film),Murder Unveiled and Perfect Husband films.
Personal life and background
Lushin Dubey did her Masters in Science in Childhood and Special Education in the US (after a Masters in History from LSR Delhi, India) and was then deeply involved in teaching mentally challenged kids.Lushin is married with two daughters, Ilina and Tara. Her sibling Lillete Dubey is also an actress.Her husband, Dr .Pradeep Dubey is Leading Professor in Applied Mathematics at Stony brook and Adjunct Professor at Yale. In college days she also acted with with Barry John.
Theatre
- Lushin's first solo play "Untitled" solo directed & scripted by Arvind Gaur, traveled to the US, UK and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.Untitled has already completed more than 200 shows. some of the cities have been Boston, Chicago, Rochester, New York, Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., and Palo Alto San Francisco. It has also been staged at the Smithsonian Institute and at Harvard [4]
- Her second Solo Bitter Chocolate is based on Pinki Virani 's book [5]
- Her major directed plays are - Life of Gautam Budda,Mushkan.
- Recently she directed Salam India, a play inspired by diplomat writer Pavan K. Varma ’s very well received book, Being Indian[6]
