Julian Hee

Julian Hee (Chinese: 许立桦) is a Chinese actor-model from Singapore.
Julian was a school swimmer and rugby player in Saint Joseph's Institution (SJI).[citation needed]
Julian won Mr Manhunt Singapore in 2002 and represented Singapore in Manhunt International 2002 held in Shanghai. He was a semi-finalist in Mr World 2003 held in London.[citation needed]
He was a part-time model before he joined Dream Forest Studios and Mediacorp as a full-time professional actor. Julian was nominated in the Best Newcomer and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes in 2005 Star Awards.[citation needed]
Diversifying his interests, he became a free-lance actor in 2008 and is working on his own business projects.[citation needed]
He is a well-known dog lover and an avid traveller.[citation needed]
Career
Julian entered the entertainment scene in 1999 as a part-time model. In 2002, he easily captured the hearts of the judges and audience with his sunny and charming disposition and a personality to match, winning the title of Mr Manhunt Singapore. He then went on to represent Singapore on international platforms Manhunt International (2002) in Shanghai and Mr World (2003) in London.
It was through his victorious conquests that Julian was discovered and scored his first TV debut in 2004 playing a major role as a police officer in the English drama HeartLanders (Season 3). In the same year, Julian made a cross over to the Chinese channel in teen drama The Champions. He also forayed into hosting by accepting to co-host a Chinese infotainment show Rootsmania.
In 2005, Julian was appointed the ambassador for Yellow Ribbon Project, a nationwide campaign that encourages the community to offer second chances to ex-offenders and their families.
Julian’s upbeat attitude and fast-improving acting skills landed him many prime acting roles in several Chinese drama productions. He was also selected to act in Singapore’s first 3G idol drama, PS…I Love You, where he acted alongside famous Taiwanese artistes Roy Chiu, Tammy Chen Yirong and Peng Boshao. Julian’s efforts were publicly recognized in 2005, where he was nominated the Best Newcomer and Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes categories at the Star Awards (Singapore).
Julian constantly tries to improve himself as an actor and continually looks for new platforms to challenge himself. In 2008, he accepted a challenging role in Chinese drama Rhythm of Life, where he played an evil and notorious character. He left a huge impression to the viewers with his splendid portrayal of the character, and created a bigger fan base.
Julian’s drastic improvement in acting also caught the attention of many producers, and he was selected to perform a major role in the Chinese drama Perfect Cut, which hit a premium ratings of over a million viewers, and garnered high praise from critics who nominated it in Star Awards 2009 (Singapore) as the Best Drama Serial.
Julian played the character Justin Kong in the Channel 5 drama Red Thread[1]
Currently, Julian is filming his up-coming Chinese drama in Malaysia.
