The Doo Wop All Stars: Vocal Doo Wop Group (1992 - Present)
- One of the first "concept groups" to be introduced in to the Doo Wop Musical Genre. Premise of group is taking 4 or 5 individual members from their own respective groups and putting them together to form on group. "It's a show within a show" remarked Bobby Jay, WCBS FM lontime D.J. Original Lineup included:
Art Loria - Belmonts, Larry Chance and the Earls Vito Balsamo - Vito and the Salutations Randy Silver - Eugene Pitt - The Jive Five - Lenny Welch
Later additions included Bernard Jones from the Dubs, Harold Gilly from the Covairs, Freddy Scott, and John Martelli.
The group released their single "A Drifting Medley" which became a favorite in the Pittsburgh, PA area and featured on Porky Chadwick's Weekly Radio Broadcast placing # 3 in on the hit list.
Each member is an inductee into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in Sharon, PA.
Each member and their group appeared in "Doo Wop 50", which was broadcasted on PBS statons nationwide and was one of the top listed money earners for Public Broadcasting.
The group still continues to perform and record.
