Career

Background

Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson is the Head Instructor of the children’s karate program at Upstate Karate in Simpsonville, SC. He is the oldest son of Ray Thompson, who is also his trainer. Stephen graduated High School in 2001. He has been studying the martial arts for 24 years and holds black belt ranks in Kempo Karate, Jujitsu, and Kickboxing. He is presently studying Brazilian Jiujitsu under Professor Carlos Machado (former world jiujitsu champion) who is also his brother-in-law[3].

Stephen spends a huge amount of time in school classrooms, where he volunteers his time reading to classes and emphasizing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through a good diet with exercise and drug avoidance.
