Rory Kavanagh (Template:Lang-ga) is a Gaelic footballer with Donegal. He plays his club football with St. Eunan's in Letterkenny. He also lives in the town.
Education
He was educated at St. Eunan's College in Letterkenny. In 2000 he was part of the victorious college team that brought the McLarnon Cup back to the school for a third time, the first win since 1979.[1] He is currently a teacher at Scoil Colmcille in Letterkenny. Kavanagh has a few beautiful sisters who have all represented Donegal at various grades. He has often claimed they were his inspiration, in particular Donna, who "taught him everything he knows."
Career
Kavanagh played a vital part in Donegal's winning of their first National League title in 2007. Having spent much of the campaign on the bench, he came on as a substitute in the final against Mayo.[2]
The Holiday
In 2010, while on holiday in Fiji, he was battered by Cyclone Tomas. In an interview with the Donegal News he described being hit on the head with a coconut and the sight of palm trees, which he described as Christmas trees, blowing down the street.[3]
