History
WEEC was formed in March 1961 and first hit the airwaves on December 15 later that same year..at first as a commercial station. All secular programming and commercial announcements were eliminated just one year later on December 15, 1962.
Paul Pontus, Dwight Coffelt, a local Springfield businessman, and Glenn Greenwood,a local Springfield pastor, founded WEEC.
WEEC began broadcasting in HD in September 2007.
On February 13, 2008, WEEC became a part of Strong Tower Christian Media.
According to a Dayton Daily News story dated July 16, 2012, WEEC announced it will be moving its studios to Xenia in 2013. Although the transmitter will remain in the city of license of Springfield, the move will leave the local community with only one other station with a live local studio being that of Wittenberg University -owned WUSO at 89.1 FM
