Tân Uyên is a rural district of Bình Dương province in southeastern Vietnam, about 20 miles north-west of Ho Chi Minh City. As of 2003, the district had a population of 131,232.[1] The district covers an area of 601 km². The district capital lies at Uyên Hưng.
The areas was already an important local centre in the Nguyen dynasty and French periods.[1][2]
