Kristi Funk (born September 22, 1969) is an American surgeon and advocate of breast cancer prevention, notable for her surgical treatment of celebrities Angelina Jolie and Sheryl Crow, among others.[1][2] Funk opened the Pink Lotus Breast Center with husband and venture capitalist Andy Funk in 2009. In May 2013, Funk and her clinic made headline news after Jolie's public disclosure of her BRCA mutation status and the prophylactic mastectomy she underwent there earlier that year.[3] Funk released a blog post about Jolie's procedure on the same day, in which she outlined the stages of surveillance and treatment that were followed in her case.[4][5]
