Microsoft's Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) is a freeware toolkit for Microsoft Windows. It provides a unified interface to enable and fine-tune Windows security features. It can be used as an extra layer of defence against malware attacks, after the firewall and before antivirus software.

EMET is targeted mostly at sysadmins but the newest version is supported for any windows user running Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 and the Microsoft .NET framework 4.0 installed.[1][2] Older versions can be used on XP, but not all features are available.[3]
