Luciana Abreu

Luciana Abreu Sodré Costa Real (born May 25 1985, at Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal) is a Portuguese singer and actress.

She was first noticed at the age of 14, for her participation in the show "Cantigas da Rua", which she won. Later on her life, Luciana attended the Escola Contemporânea do Espectáculo (Contemporary Spectacle School), in Porto, where she studied acting. During 2002 she took a part in the play O Casamento, by the Seiva Trupe theatre company, as both actress and singer. Later, in 2003, she starred the musical play Cabaret Carioca by Carlos Leça, inspired by Chico Buarque's music, in which she took the role of Beatriz.

In 2004, Luciana entered the Portuguese Idol competition, where she reached the finals. However, she was eliminated in the December 17 show. There, and because of her passion for butterflies, she earned the nickname of borboleta (butterfly). She has, inclusively, a tatooed butterfly on her lower back.

Despite her elimination from Portuguese Idol, she did not stop. In 2005, along with Rui Drummond, she was selected by RTP to form the duo 2B. 2B represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 but they failed to qualify for the final.

Currently, Luciana is the star of the Portuguese version of Floribella, based on an Argentinian original known as Floricienta. She plays the leading role of Ana Flor Valente. She has also recorded the show's soundtrack. The album has enjoyed sales of over 140,000 units as of August 9 (in Portuguese).
