Lygodium japonicum is a native of Southeast Asia and has invaded areas of the Gulf Coast.[1] One ecosystem is the longleaf pine savanna, a fire-dependent ecosystem. Some studies have shown that L. japonicum is sensitive to higher severity fires.[1] Fire may not be the best form of control.
