Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Coolninad! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan 09:24, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

  • You're welcome. Glad you found them useful. I wouldn't want you to end up as a Clueless Newbie. Keep up the good work. :) Ryan 09:57, August 1, 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Siddheshwar.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Siddheshwar.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Solapur article

Dear Coolninad, in response to the following comment addressed to me on the Solapur talk page:

Dear Gajamukhu, " Solapur has been a center of controversy between Karnataka and Maharashtra governments since the creation of both states in 1956. " This statement by you is factually incorrect. Please stop posting factually incorrect data.

I did NOT insert the above statement into the page. My only edit on this page has been reverting the link to the Kannada article on Solapur. Please check the history of the page before making allegations like this. In fact, if anything is factually incorrect, it is your allegation. And please sign your name (by using four tildes) after posting messages on the discussion page, so you can be easily identified. Sincerely, Gajamukhu 05:10, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And since you wrote ‘Please stop posting factually incorrect data’, please point out where else I have posted incorrect data. To the extent of my knowledge, I haven't. Sincerely, Gajamukhu 05:17, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ninad,

When you leave messages for users, please leave them on their Talk page and not on their user page. Thanks, Gajamukhu 23:52, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well done Ninad

Ok

I thank you for your message. Would you please give me the links. However, let that "someone" continue to do such silly things. Let us continue on our real work here. --Bhadani 12:13, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I saw them. It is really sad. It is also foolish on the part of that person. However, we should not feed the troll. Let him/her continue in his bad things, we shall continue with our good work. I am sure that you understand. All the best. --Bhadani 21:58, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
