Orphaned non-free media (File:BHWeekly-cover-Jan2011.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:BHWeekly-cover-Jan2011.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

My edit was taken out; it was a good faith edit, the comment was supported; should not have been taken out. A good faith edit shouldn't be taken out without discussion. I wish to have this issue discusssed in this forum further.Mwinog2777 (talk) 14:59, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:06, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Bal Harbour, Florida may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

What is the source for File:Courier Beverly Hills logo.pdf? I noticed it just has the website name on the description, but not the specific file or web page where it came from. I can (and just did on my own computer) convert this to a suitable SVG file, and I think it's below the threshold of originality for the United States, so it can be used without a free use rationale. --Closeapple (talk) 09:38, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I just did a Google Image search to the effect of "Beverly Hills Courier logo" and pulled the highest resolution one I found and then converted it into vector and saved it as a PDF. SueDonem (talk) 17:25, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see you placed a replacement on the article and thus made this original file redundant. As such, I have marked the original file for CSD. Thank you! SueDonem (talk) 22:53, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images on Commons

Hey. You might want to check out commons:Commons:Licensing. Any photos not explicitly licensed as free content are not permitted over there (and are only permitted on here in certain circumstances). I have nominated commons:File:'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach.jpg for deletion over there since it's pulled straight from the hotel's website, and is copyrighted. cymru.lass (talkcontribs) 19:12, 1 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
