This is a proposal for the creation of a centralized group of talented copyeditors for the purpose of eliminating the substantial backlog of tagged articles. This group will assume the responsibility of processing these articles and properly editing them for grammar, punctuation, capitalization, word usage, formatting and wikification.

The copyedit tag:

denotes articles that are in need of work. We will take neccessary steps to modify these articles so they are satisfactory to warrant removal of the copyedit tag.

Mission Objectives

The League's objectives are threefold, we will ensure that:

  • The size of the copyedit backlog is reduced down to a managable level.
  • New articles that are in need of copyediting are so tagged.
  • Through group collaboration, difficult to process articles are processed through a team effort.

Current to-do list

  • Create a core membership of this project and draft a formal proposal.
  • Begin reducing the backlog of copyedit tagged articles.
  • Ensure accuracy by doublechecking copyedited articles with a final proofread conducted by a second league member.
