The novel is a story of a New York “Doc” Saul Karoo. Karoo’s job is to fix film scripts, usually at the cost of the writers originality and dignity, to ensure a movie does well in the box office. We follow Karoo through his privileged life style as he battles alcoholism, fatherhood, divorce, sex and show business.[1][2]
