To report an error in content currently or imminently on the Main Page, use the appropriate section below.
- Where is the error? An exact quotation of the text in question helps.
- Offer a correction if possible.
- References are helpful, especially when reporting an obscure factual or grammatical error.
- Time zones. The Main Page runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC, currently 08:32 on 2 December 2024) and is not adjusted to your local time zone.
- Can you resolve the problem yourself? If the error lies primarily in the content of an article linked from the Main Page, fix the problem there before reporting it here. Text on the Main Page generally defers to the articles with bolded links. Upcoming content on the Main Page is usually only protected from editing beginning 24 hours before its scheduled appearance. Before that period, you can be bold and fix any issues yourself.
- Do not use {{edit fully-protected}} on this page, which will not get a faster response. It is unnecessary, because this page is not protected, and causes display problems because this is not a talk page. (See the bottom of this revision for an example.)
- No chit-chat. Lengthy discussions should be moved to a suitable location elsewhere, such as the talk page of the relevant article or project.
- Respect other editors. Another user wrote the text you want changed, or reported an issue they see in something you wrote. Everyone's goal should be producing the best Main Page possible. The compressed time frame of the Main Page means sometimes action must be taken before there has been time for everyone to comment. Be civil to fellow users.
- Reports are removed when resolved. Once an error has been addressed or determined not to be an error, or the item has been rotated off the Main Page, the report will be removed from this page. Check the revision history for a record of any discussion or action taken; no archives are kept.

- Here we go with the picture thing again . . . . . 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 07:38, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yep, we have two decent pics for wildfires - File:Amazon fire satellite image.png and File:Queimadas e suas cicatrizes no Sul do Pará, em Altamira Agricultural fires at southern Pará, Brazil (48594171041).jpg. Brandmeistertalk 08:15, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Amakuru: Regarding this reversion and this edit, we have occasionally displayed a photograph for an RD item when an image was stale and the pickings were slim (e.g., when another option's thumbnail was barely discernible from a black rectangle). I've attempted to adapt the satellite image, but it remains far from ideal. Map-type images rarely work well at this scale. —David Levy 12:11, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- I suggest changing "satellite image shown" to "satellite rendering shown". The former suggests that what you're looking at is an image of the fires from space, but this is not the case. It's actually a satellite image overlaid with orange squares to represent the wildfire data. --SureJohn (talk) 16:29, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Changed "satellite image" to "satellite rendering". I'm not sure "satellite rendering" is great, either - sounds clunky - but as SureJohn explains, this is not an actual satellite image. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:48, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Perhaps ‘composite image shown’? And the caption should state wildfire locations, as it’s not the fires themselves. Stephen 20:55, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- I strongly agree with saying "wildfire locations" in the caption (I hadn't noticed this before). I also agree that "satellite rendering" sounds clunky, but I still think it's better than "composite image", which I might interpret as multiple satellite images stitched together.
