She was born in Biratchowk, Morang district. Her mother is Mina Devi and father is Ramesh Rishidev. She is the eldest of four siblings.[2] Her family belongs to the Musahar who are considered marginalised community in Nepal. [3]

She has a medical problems and difficulties in walking. [2]
