Fair use rationale for Image:300X450gab07.jpg
Image:300X450gab07.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

2006 GAB poster
Why is the one with several superstars on here, I dont recall that ever been used by WWE. Why isn't the Batista one on here, look it's listed as the official poster here: http://www.wwe.com/shows/thegreatamericanbash/history/2006/. 172.188.76.209 10:06, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- The one you list is the one I remember seeing, it's also the one on WWE's media page. It looks like the other one was an alternate poster (similar to how the 2006 Royal Rumble had 2 posters: one featuring all four McMahons dressed up like they were in Anicent Rome, and abother that like like Roman ruins). TJ Spyke 23:20, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
So shall we upload the Batista one or leave the alternate one on? 172.188.76.209 09:08, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
- Never mind, it's already been done, Thanks. Post Closed 172.188.76.209 14:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
The Concept
On both this and the original GAB entry it says that Dusty Rhodes invented the concept of the Great American Bash. WHat is the concept? Rumble's concept is a 30-man staggered battle royal. Survivor Series' is a large team elimination tag match. I don't quite get what they mean when they say the concept of the GAB; does it just mean he made the title?Tony2Times 18:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- I haven't read Ric Flair's booke (which is the source of the statement), so i'm not sure. I suppose the title, and it being the NWA's first real annual event. Maybe someone with Flair's book can explain in more detail. TJ Spyke 21:19, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
GAB Link
People will get confussed whether the link is the WWE PPV or WCW/NWA PPV. I wanted to make the link more clearer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.108.164.55 (talk) 06:19, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- This is the article for the WWE PPV though, so how would they get confused? I could understand if this was an article on WWE PPV's in general, but this is specifically for the WWE GAB, the only other one is the original. They actually used to be one article, but it was decided that the page was too big and the WWE ones were split off. TJ Spyke 06:23, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
GAB 2004 Theme Song?
The article says Amerika by Rammstein was the officially them song. I still have the live event on video and the music used on the PPV was also the music used by Mr Kennedy when he 1st debuted on smackdown. I dont know if this was edited out of the DVD and replaced by Ameira but i thought i would mention it. Don.-.J (talk) 16:06, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Merge with article'The Great American Bash'
I believe that this article should be merged with the article The Great American Bash. The reason I think this should be done is because this is a continuation of that event. Even WWE acknowledges that this is a direct continuation and as they now own the rights to not only the events that they are currently promoting, but also the classic NWA/WCW versions as well there is no reason to assume that this is a new event started in 2004, it simply is not. It is comparable in some ways to the ECW Championship. That was a title started in another company, but when WWE revived ECW, the title was brought in and is fully recognised on Wikipedia as the same title with the same lineage (other examples are the U.S and Cruiserweight titles from WCW). The question has to be asked as to why people consider this not to be the same event. --Bravo Plantation (talk) 09:55, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Coincidentally I raised this point on the talk page a few days ago. The original reason for it to be split was that it was getting too long, but this was back when each event didn't have its own page. Now that it's just a case of adding a few links to the grid on the original page I'm proposing to move it back. Tony2Times (talk) 13:20, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- I agree that it should be all one article. I mean WrestleMania is quite a lengthy article, but nobody would split that. I think that it should be merged asap. --Bravo Plantation (talk) 14:17, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
GAB 2009
Where did the page go for the 2009 GAB? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wwehurricane1 (talk • contribs) 21:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's a redirect, because we are too far away from it. SimonKSK 21:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yep, we generally only do PPV articles a few months ahead of time (WrestleMania being the exception). Right now there would be no info in the article except the date and location. TJ Spyke 22:01, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 23:16, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Just so you guys know their a Rumor that The Great American Bash date has been change I ask for a source and so far I have not gotten one Supermike (talk) 23:16, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
- Here.--WillC---Joe's gonna kill you!!!) 02:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
- Or a more reliable source would be wwe.com itself which states that The Great American Bash and Night of Champions have swapped dates. TJ Spyke 03:05, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Move to WWE The Bash
This page should be moved to WWE The Bash, but WWE The Bash redirects to the 2009 event page (which is at The Bash) and therefore, it won't let this page be moved there. Some help please. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 01:30, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- We don't know if this is a permanent change or just for this year. If next years event is called The Bash too, then I would agree (remember Vengeance: Night of Champions? That was only used the one year).
- I saw your revision on this page and understood the reasoning. Thanks for providing one instead of reverting it with no reasonable explanation.Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:21, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
*sigh...
Ok, WWE gives free tickets to military personnel for ALL of their events world wide and ALL WWE pay per views are broadcast on the Armed Forces Network for free. This is not exclusive to the Great American Bash. I tried to edit the article to remove that sentence, but (as usual) my edit was reverted. Let's discuss it so I don't get banned for changing it again. Wwehurricane1 (talk) 02:19, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Move to WWE The Bash
It should be WWE The Bash as it is now renamed (it is oficial because of the show's history section on wwe.com). But a redirect on the page WWE The Bash exists. Could someone please delete it? Thanks wwesocks 04:38, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- It should be moved back, as the show will no longer run under that name either - a single PPV doesn't deserve an article. Str1977 (talk) 21:36, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

WWE The Bash → WWE The Great American Bash — This event has been called "Great American Bash" 2004-2008 and only once, in 2009, appeared as "The Bash". The article was only moved in July 2009 at the request of a single editor. Now, the event is defunct and should not be called by the title the event had for a single year. Str1977 (talk) 21:47, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, we don't know if is defunct, you don't know that. TJ Spyke 23:33, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- Support: One year compared to 5 events, common name is still The Great American Bash and will be even if it is still active.--WillC 03:11, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- If it's still active, it DOES make a difference. Take a look, for example, at WWE Extreme Rules (that was changed the same day it was confirmed to be the new name of WWE One Night Stand). I think the request should be put on hold until we know if The Bash is gonna continue or not (it could still be moved to the empty November spot that used to be Survivor Series. It's not unheard of, Night of Champions is being moved to September this year). TJ Spyke 16:12, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
- The article says that it's defunct and I heard that it was a victim of the recent PPV reshuffle elsewhere too. Oh, it is 5 GABs to 1 TB anyway. And that TB is simply a (misguided) abbreviation of GAB also speaks for that former name - in contrast to events that are given totally new names. Str1977 (talk) 18:01, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't know the article says it's defunct. It's unknown what the status of the event is. WWE has not said what is gonna be in the November spot yet. If the event is still active (which we don'tknow yet), then it would stay at The Bash. TJ Spyke 21:50, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- FYI, the article says: "The Bash is a professional wrestling pay-per-view event ... After a four-year hiatus, the event was revived by the rechristened WWE in June 2004 and would be exclusive to the SmackDown! brand from 2004 to 2006.[3][4][5] In 2007, to follow the format of WrestleMania, ... The 2010 event will be replaced by one called "Fatal Four Way", it is unknown if it will share the history of The Bash. Str1977 (talk) 14:55, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- This situation would be just like a wrestler getting his ring name changed. Like A.J. Styles changing his ring name to Super Styles or something. Just because it was changed doesn't mean it is now his common name. Same with an event.--WillC 05:52, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Not really, it would be complete different. TJ Spyke 22:25, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe you can show how it is different rather than being vague.--WillC 06:45, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
- I agree that the analogy doesn't hold as the name of the actual person would remain unchanged no matter what his ring name would be (an event doesn't have any actual personal name). And any wrestler would be placed under the name he is best known for (e.g. Hulk Hogan is not under Terry Bollea, nor was it ever moved to Hollywood Hogan).
However, the title of this article is wrong nonetheless. The article describes a series of annual events, which with a single exception are called "Great American Bash". The number of events will not grow for the time being as the event has been removed. Sure that single "The Bash" is "The Bash" but why should other events called "Great American Bash" be listed under it? If they are one continutity of events, either the vast majority of names, or greater weight of tradition should prevail. Or "The Bash" is a completely different event, in which case he wouldn't belong here but elsewhere. Str1977 (talk) 14:55, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 video game.
should it be noted that even though The Bash is no longer a WWE PPV, it is still in WWE's video game this year? here's some proof:

- Its simple Trivia. Additionally, THQ has a cut-off date for what makes it into the game and doesn't. It's logical to conclude that "The Bash" from 2009 made the cut even though it is no longer an active PPV event. Its all trivia though. Not really notable. Perhaps it is something for the SVR 2011 article instead.--UnquestionableTruth-- 04:20, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Citation needed for the dark main event at the 2012 show
I added the dark main event to the 2012 show's results table (John Cena vs. Big Show and Tensai), however I don't have a good reference for that match. I've seen the last three minutes or so on YouTube (somebody recorded it on their cell phone) so I know the match took place and that Cena was the victor, but obviously we need to be able to cite some source to demonstrate this (and an illegally-recorded YouTube video that WWE will likely remove soon probably won't cut it). I can't seem to find anything, not even dirtsheets. Anybody else able to find a good source for the dark main event? Jeff Silvers (talk) 18:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Shouldnt the GAB:2012 & every "special themed" episode of WWE-TV get its own page, much like the Raw1000 page? Cobra 24.24.231.104 (talk) 18:58, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
