Hello

Hope you had a good vacation! I'm sorry to see that you're semi-retired, but I really enjoyed collaborating with you in the past. Thank you for all the fine contributions you've made to film articles, and I sincerely hope you'll come back every so often. —Erik (talkcontrib) 16:30, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just getting back

Hey, Alientraveller. Sorry for not responding sooner; as you probably surmised from my contribution history, I've been away for several months. I plan to return to Wiki-editing regularly (if not often -- it looks like you're doing the same).

It's easy to get a little burnt out sometimes, though from what I'm seeing as I quickly get back to folks and glance around, my gut instinct says the level of professionalism in Wiki-editing is rising. I've always admired the exceptionally high quality of your own work, and I'm glad to see you're still here fighting the good fight, even if less often than before. With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 00:50, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Request for your opinion

Hi. Can you join this discussion in order to offer us your thoughts? We need as many people as we can get in this, since the 4-6 participants from previous discussions on this matter was felt by some to be insufficient. It would be most appreciated. Thanks. Transformers IDW

I saw you were one of the original creators of the Transformers IDW article so I was wondering if you could continue the synopsis of the story since the story was written only until All Hail Megatron issue 11? Re: Unprovoked attack

Hello Alientraveller, More than three years ago, you confronted me about an unprovoked attack, in which I angrily mentioned you, because I disputed your edit clean-up. After all this time, I'd like to acknowledge that I was wrong and I hope I didn't offend you too much. Truth be told, this was when I was in high school and still learning the ropes about Wikipedia. In all humble honesty, I'm not usually an accusatory person and I have gifted literary skills, so I wasn't trying to be a troll. Over the last three years, I have been on the receiving end of such mentions once or twice, I understand my folly.

I know you've semi-retired, but if you get around to it, I hope you may accept this honest statement. DarthBotto talkcont 00:10, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Megatronorigin.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Megatronorigin.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Lindsey Stirling, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anorexia (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Main Page appearance: The Simpsons Movie

This is a note to let the main editors of The Simpsons Movie know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on July 26, 2014. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at present, please ask Bencherlite (talk · contribs). You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 26, 2014. If it needs tweaking, or if it needs rewording to match improvements to the article between now and its main page appearance, please edit it, following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Sign for the premiere

The Simpsons Movie is a 2007 American animated comedy film based on the television series The Simpsons. Directed by David Silverman, it stars the regular cast of Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Tress MacNeille, and Pamela Hayden. It features Albert Brooks as Russ Cargill, the evil head of the Environmental Protection Agency who intends to destroy Springfield after Homer pollutes the lake. As the townspeople exile him and eventually his family abandons him, Homer works to redeem his folly by stopping Cargill's scheme. Previous attempts to create a film version of The Simpsons failed due to the lack of a script of appropriate length and production crew members. Eventually, producers and writers banded together and conceived numerous narrative concepts, one of which was selected for development. The script was re-written over a hundred times, and this creativity continued after animation had begun in 2006. The film premiered in Springfield, Vermont (theater sign pictured), which had won the right to hold it in a competition. It was a box office success, grossing over $527 million, and received critical acclaim. (Full article...)

You (and your talk-page stalkers) may also be interested to hear that there have been some changes at the TFA requests page recently. Nominators no longer need to calculate how many "points" an article has, the instructions have been simplified, and there's a new nomination system using templates based on those used for DYK suggestions. Please consider nominating another article, or commenting on an existing nomination, and leaving some feedback on your experience. Thank you. UcuchaBot (talk) 23:03, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A Question

Hello Alien. I know you're semi-retired, but I was wondering if you could recommend anyone I can contact to lodge a complain to about another editor. This person is preventing me from making any edits on The Godfather page, apparently claiming it cannot be touched because the consensus (which appears to be him) is that it is fine the way it is. I pointed out a number of problems and he threatens to have me blocked. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Please don't answer on my page, as I don't want him reading it. He apparently has Asperger's Syndrome and this may be behind much of the problem though it does not give him any right to abuse his editorial duties. Thank you so much. PNW Raven (talk) 22:57, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) You were edit warring and violated WP:3RR along with attempting to skirt violating 3RR by using an IP to sock -- those are both blockable. Two other editors have warned you about the edit warring, as well. WP:BRD means you edit boldly, if you are reverted you then go to the talk page to discuss. Instead, you chose to continue edit warring and threatened to report editors who reverted you. All of these things = disruptive editing. And, just for the record, my Asperger's has no bearing on any of your poor choices in communicating with other editors and violating policy, PNW Raven. -- WV 04:17, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of MK12

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on MK12, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
