Welcome to WikiProject Editing trends. Some Wikipedians have formed this collaboration group to track and explain editing trends on Wikipedia. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. Goals

  • Compile and catalog statistics on editing trends that occur on Wikipedia
  • Interpret editing trends and derived statistics to ascertain causation
  • Develop proposals to address long-term negative editing trends

Scope

  • Any quantitative or qualitative measurement of change for any materially important component of the project.

Guidelines

  • The Wikiproject may not release private data to individuals; participants with higher level userrights are reminded to abide by any terms of use of the higher level userrights when compiling data for the project.
  • Files and graphs should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons to encourage interwiki collaboration.
  • Whenever possible, charts should avoid listing usernames when tracking trends, User IDs can be obtained from this Toolserver utility for such purposes.
