Deutsch: „Unter einer auf den oberen Schildrand gesetzten rot ausgeschlagenen großherzoglichen Krone im geteilten Schild oben in Gold ein blau bewehrter und bezungter, wachsender roter Löwe, unten in Blau eine silberne Lilie.“

English: The small arms of Darmstadt shows the divided shield, gold up in a blue-tongued and reinforced, growing red lion, down in blue, a silver lily.
