However, Ginger gets a hold of the invention and misuses it to make Tom and Ben give him candy. For the gang's annual "Best Friends Camping Trip", the gang goes out to the desert. Ben storms off on his own in anger, and uses his laptop (which he had smuggled on the trip), only to discover that he is able to chat on the Internet with the moon, and becomes friends with it. Much to Angela and Tom's dismay, Ben gets distracted by his new friend, and after the moon nearly pulls the gang off the Earth's surface, he decides to go to the moon.

Tom decides to develop an app called "Talking Tom-Tom", that converts speech to drum beats, but is unable to create the code for the app on the computer. When Tom comes across a video where Ben had been working on the app, he breaks down and cries, as he misses his friend and business partner.  • Part 1: Ben accidentally reveals that he, Tom, Hank and Ginger are having a surprise birthday party for Angela. But Tom, Hank, and Ginger are lost in the desert after Tom misspells "dessert" as "desert" on his phone’s map. Ben and Angela are left talking together at the diner when Angela reveals to Ben the secret that she likes Tom. Tom, Hank and Ginger come across a tourist trap and use a wagon which was left there, to ride their way back to town, only to end up hitting Angela who coincidentally walks out of the diner.
 • Part 2 Angela gets worried about Ben telling Tom about her secret that she likes Tom, so she meets Ben and suggests he make an invention to get rid of his memory about the secret, when Ginger arrives to warn them of brain-suckers, but hides after misinterpreting their conversation and believing them to have been affected by the brain suckers. Meanwhile, the CEO calls Tom and Ben for a meeting, and Tom goes with Hank (as Ben is avoiding Tom), and finds out that he and Ben will be featured speakers at the Tech Stars conference.
 • Part 3 Tom and Hank want to celebrate their recent collaboration with the CEO, but can't find Ben or Angela at the garage, and find Ginger instead, who is paranoid about the existence of intergalactic brain suckers, and Tom sends Hank to fetch Ben. Angela uses Ben's device that wipes people's memories on him (while wearing protective glasses so as to not forget her own memories) and finds that it works as intended, only for Hank to have arrived unnoticed and also been affected by the device, and the trio watch TV, believing that there is nothing urgent. Tom and Ginger head to Angela's when Hank doesn’t return and acts as if he doesn't remember anything, but when Tom sees Ben and Angela apparently dancing and kissing (even though Ben got into a snack spill and Angela was trying to clean it up), he becomes dejected and goes to the Tech Stars conference where he trashes Ben and gives away his company and all the ideas associated with it. Angela finally confesses to Tom that she likes him and Tom reveals that he also liked Angela. Angela uses the mind-erasing device to make the executives forget that Tom sold his company so that Tom can get it back, and Ginger wears the protective glasses and takes photos of Tom and Angela kissing, and then Hank accidentally uses the mind-erasing device again and makes the gang, except for Ginger, forget everything.

A jealous Tom, and his friends, return home to find out that Roy is moving into their neighbourhood. Tom gets lost in the hallway, however, and enters a different room where he finds blueprints of the museum, a crown and another room, when Angela and Roy find him. Roy explains the crown's presence by saying that he has a passion for collecting antiques and wishes to get something from out of the world, but Tom gets suspicious on seeing the blueprints. Tom returns home, and finds burglary gear and a Space Conflicts costume delivered to his house but meant for Roy, and concludes that Roy is going to steal a ruby that fell from space. Tom hides in the museum, wearing the costume and gear, and catches Roy about to steal the ruby, but accidentally triggers the alarm, and Roy runs away. Tom gives chase, catches Roy, and takes him to the museum in front of the staff, public and Tom's friends, but Roy explains that he wanted to give the crown as an anonymous contribution to the museum, and that by "out of the world", he meant the Space Conflicts costume, and the public boos Tom, but Roy defends him. Later, the friends watch the news covering Roy's donation and how Tom ruined the surprise, and comfort Tom, when Roy arrives, apologises to Tom and makes amends, and then pulls him aside and reveals that he is really a criminal.

The gang starts cleaning up, then persuades Ben into using his latest invention, a "flat jack" which flattens things to store all the junk. However, when they overload the machine despite Ben's warnings, it turns everything into flat objects. Then, the landlord's antique clock is blown out through the window and Tom, Ginger, Angela and Hank are blown out with it while trying to save it, while Ben is blown in a different direction. Afterwards, Tom finds himself and his friends downtown, and the friends recall the lazy ways in which they did things that day, and resort to manipulating their bodies in similar ways to save the clock and return to the garage without getting blown away, and meet Ben just opposite to the garage, when the storm subsides. They then fold up into a paper airplane and reenter the garage, and reverse the flattening in time for the landlord and the photographer, only for all the junk to burst out of the storage. Tom then tries to bring up what he saw at Roy's the last time they went there, but Angela says that they'll be going, when Ben's newest invention, a submarine that can shrink itself to enter bodies, suddenly appears with Ben inside. Tom later uses it to hide in Hank's doughnuts, and Hank gives the doughnuts to Roy, unaware of Tom's presence in them. Roy eats the one with Tom inside, but Tom gets trapped in Roy's brain after he accidentally damages the submarine. He then calls Ben for help, so Ben has Angela give Roy a cup of tea with Ben, Hank and Ginger inside a shrunken taxi in the tea. The trio find Tom after getting Angela to buy a painting to stop Roy from using his megaphone and interfering in the mission. But since the submarine is stuck, they get Angela to hit Roy with the painting (with Angela pretending as if it is an accident) so that the submarine is dislodged. Later, Tom, Ben, Hank and Ginger reach Roy's nose, and forced to leave one of themselves behind to get him to sneeze. Initially, Hank is chosen by drawing sticks, but Tom instead volunteers and succeeds in making him sneeze. Angela catches the friends, while the painting which was around Roy's neck flies off and hits a wall, causing a secret room to open. Roy stops it from opening and embarrassedly volunteers to clean the statue by himself. Later, the friends accept Tom's apology for having put them in danger. At school, Darren and Ronnie get an A+ for the toaster, and later, Tonya confronts Ginger for leaking the project. Ginger then calls all girls "gross" and all the girls in the gymnasium chase him. Ginger gets chased by Tonya and climbs a rope, which starts to give way, and Ginger uses Tonya's chewed up gum to make sure the rope doesn't give way. Later, Ginger and Tonya reveal their science project to be "lie-detector gum" and make Darren try it. Darren lies that the toaster was his own idea while eating it, and finds himself unable to open his mouth. Ginger and Tonya claim it to be an effect of the gum on a liar, and Ronnie confesses to having cheated, after which Ginger and Tonya reveal that the gum is just prank gum, and that their actual project is an improved solar-powered toaster. So, Angela gets all the people who took part in the raffle event to donate to save the diner. Tom and Ben's landlord comes to take the rent, and claims that Rhonda is 20 dollars short. After the entire crowd at the diner is unable to pay the remainder, Angela offers to sing a song to make up for the 20 dollars, but the landlord insists on a song about hard work.
