Support, as they seem to be about the same person, although in the process I would also suggest removing the quotation about "falsely being claimed as a native of Toledo". I believe it was quite common for saintly relics to be moved from one place to another for veneration, sort of a post-mortem form of naturalization—this would not have been viewed as a false narrative at the time, and the phrasing suggests editorial bias, even though it's cited to a source. Repeating other people's biased language still violates NPOV, as well as seeming like an anachronistic modern viewpoint. I leave to editors with more expertise in the topic the question of whether the anti-Jewish rhetoric mentioned in the larger article is adequately supported and addressed by the literature.
Not sure which title receives more traffic; the merged article should probably be under whichever title people are most likely to search for. The article should probably mention both titles in the lead. P Aculeius (talk) 14:35, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support, the two pages do seem to refer to the same saint; the sources seem to confirm it. There's also the same story in both pages, about the saint cutting off the head of the Diana statue and being executed for it. Basil Watkins even says that they're the same saint.[1] As for the anti-Jewish rhetoric in the other article, it's pretty clear that it was anti-Jewish and why, and that the sources do support and address the issue. I agree with you about removing the Toledo native line, for the reasons you state. Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 17:15, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
