All Saints' Day

From Wikiquote

All Saints' Day, also known as All Hallows' Day, Hallowmas, the Feast of All Saints, or Solemnity of All Saints, is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honour of all the saints, known and unknown. Its intent is to celebrate all the saints, including those who are no longer celebrated, or are not celebrated individually, either because the number of saints has become so great or because they were celebrated in groups, after suffering martyrdom collectively.

Quotes

[edit]
  • Today, the Church is celebrating her dignity as "Mother of the Saints, an image of the Eternal City," and displays her beauty as the immaculate Bride of Christ, source and model of all holiness. She certainly does not lack contentious or even rebellious children, but it is in the Saints that she recognizes her characteristic features and precisely in them savours her deepest joy.
