Tosk form of Gheg mâz, from Old Albanian manz (Buzuku), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Albanian *mandja, from *mand- ‘to feed (trans.), suckle’ (modern mënd).[1][2] Compare also Romanian mânz. More at mënd.
