Albanian
Etymology
From Proto-Albanian *walā, from Proto-Indo-European *welh₁- (“to wish”). Cognate to Gothic 𐍅𐌰𐌹𐌻𐌰 (waila, “id”), Old High German wela, wola (“id”).[1]
