Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --Ivan Štambuk 13:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Re:Goosnargh

I'm afraid I don't write IPA, so I can only spell it phonetically for you. Though I am not certain, I believe it is 'Gooz-narr' or 'Gozz-narr', depending on your own accent. J Milburn 13:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

onager

First of all, let me say thanks for helping out with the categorization project. Secondly, I got {{en-noun}} to work for onager, if you care to look. That's all. -Atelaes λάλει ἐμοί 07:18, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Reverting vandalism

Thanks for helping with this, but please do be certain you revert all the vandalism, and not just a part of it. For example, on the entry for (deprecated template usage) hello, the anon user made these changes, but you only undid this portion. --EncycloPetey 18:10, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

cheeslaw

The entry you created (cheeslaw) seems to have been a protologism and has been deleted. If you are sure that it is a real word, please provide evidence of this word being used in durably archived media (mainly printed books, and usenet groups) as required by our inclusion criteria. For a term to be included, it must be used by at least three different authors over more than a year, and the authors must be actually using the word, not just explaining its meaning or stating that it exists. If you can find any such quotations, please add them to Citations:cheeslaw. Conrad.Irwin 08:19, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yup, "cheese slaw" does actually appear to exist. Conrad.Irwin 08:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Moved old page to cheese slaw. Conrad.Irwin 08:26, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Serbian salad

Hi Dijan - is this what you would call a Serbian salad? --Borganised 09:17, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I've never actually heard anyone refer to it as Serbian salad in English. The salad described is however the common meal salad eaten in Serbia as well as other Balkan countries, such as Bosnia. --Dijan 09:25, 14 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lincoln

You have misinterpreted CFI, and so I have reverted your deletion. The word Lincoln appears attributively, which meets the requirements of CFI. We have discussed this specific word in the past and agreed on that point. --EncycloPetey 19:27, 6 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks

You're welcome. I just noticed that you did a few of the minerals; thanks for that. I am temporarily very sick of minerals, but I do hope to finish the top (Wikipedia) list eventually! Equinox 16:25, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
