Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam Election Results 2023: A voter turnout of nearly 52 per cent was recorded in the first phase of the urban local body elections in Uttar Pradesh while 53 per cent turnout was recorded in the second phase.

Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam Election Result 2023: The counting of votes for the recently concluded Nagar Nigam Chunav in Gorakhpur started today at 8 am across the counting centres in the district. The high-decibel election to the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation was held in the first phase of UP Nagar Nikay Chunav 2023 on May 4. Gorakhpur is among the 17 districts in UP where the mayor will be elected today.

A voter turnout of nearly 52 per cent was recorded in the first phase of the urban local body elections in Uttar Pradesh while 53 per cent turnout was recorded in the second phase. In the first phase, polling was held for 103 posts of nagar palika parishad chairperson, 2,740 nagar palika parishad members, 275 Nagar Panchayat chairpersons and 3,645 Nagar Panchayat members. A total of 44,232 candidates were in the fray. These elections will pose a key test for the parties ahead of next year's Lok Sabha polls.

- BJP candidate Dr Manglesh Srivastava has registered a resounding victory in Gorakhpur Municipal Elections. 

- BJP is racing towards a comfortable victory in the Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam elections. After 8 rounds of counting, BJP has received nearly 74,000  votes while SP has so far grabbed over 45,000 votes.

- Votes cast through EVMs and paper ballots in UP local body polls being counted in Gorakhpur

- In Gorakhpur, the counting of votes for the Municipal Corporation is underway at Gorakhpur University while the counting of votes for the Municipal Council is underway in related Tehsils.

- Counting of votes began in Gorakhpur district today at 8 am. As per the early trends, the BJP is leading on the Gorakhpur municipal corporation.
