JE Sports Desk: The Norwegian striker Erling Haaland signed for Manchester City on July 2022 after penning a five-year deal after the activation of his €60 million (£51.2 million) release clause with the Premier League giants.
He made his debut for the Sky Blues in an all-important clash against Liverpool in the FA Community Shield. It wasn't a memorable debut for the striker as he missed few chances including a sitter in front of goal as City suffered a 3-1 defeat in the end.
A week later Haaland kicked off the Premier League season in style scoring two goals on his league debut for Pep Guardiola's side. The Norwegian international went on to bag 36 goals in 35 appearances, breaking the record for most goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season.
He scored 52 goals including six hat-tricks in 53 appearances for the Premier League champions. The 22-year-old went on to lift the season treble (Champions League, Premier League, and FA Cup) in his very first season after moving from Borussia Dortmund last season.
"It is unreal. I don't know what to say. I am so happy. These are the memories I will remember for the rest of my life. I don't know what to say. It is special. I am going to enjoy this day. It is amazing. Debut season, 36 goals, a Premier League trophy, and two more finals to come. Not bad," Haaland told Sky Sports.
Below are Haaland's stats for Man City this season across competitions:
Premier League
Haaland made 35 appearances and scored 36 goals with 8 assists to his name in his first season at the Etihad Stadium. His remarkable scoring form helped his team clinch their seventh league title as they overpowered Arsenal mid-season to achieve the feat.
FA Community Shield
Manchester City faced Liverpool in the Community Shield clash where Haaland made his club debut and missed a few chances to score. City suffered a 3-1 loss, giving both the debutant and the club a bitter start to their new season.
EFL Cup (Carabao Cup)
Haaland made only two appearances for City in the EFL cup and scored one goal as his team was knocked out by Southampton in the quarterfinals
FA Cup
Manchester City beat their city rivals Manchester United 2-1 in the final to lift the famous FA Cup title for the seventh time with Haaland scoring three goals in four appearances in the competition.
UEFA Champions League
The Sky Blues beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the final to lift their maiden UCL title with Haaland finishing as the top scorer with 12 goals in 11 matches in the elite competition.

He also became the only manager to have achieved this milestone twice.
