Police investigate two separate cases of debit card fraud

Police investigate after two separate cases of fraud were reported over the weekend.
The first was reported Friday around 11:30 a.m.

Curtis Garrett with the Paris Police Department said the victim advised someone had used their debit card to make a purchase in Beijing, China.
“The report shows that the debit card is still in the victim’s wallet,” Garrett said. “The incident is under investigation.”
Another fraud report was taken that same day, around 4:30 p.m.
“It was reported that a known suspect had used the victim’s debit card to make several purchases,” Garrett said. “The victim told the officer they had been in Paris back in May for a visit and had given the suspect a ride. The suspect may have obtained the card information at that time.”
The investigation continues, Garrett said.
