MUNICIPALITY LIMITS It limits to the north with the municipality of Certegui, to the east with the municipality of Tadó, to the west with the municipality of the Canton of San Pablo and to the south with the municipality of Istmina.
FOUNDATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY Pan American Union was founded on July 30, 1999. Within this municipality is a town called Raspadura.
TOWN RASPADURA IN THE CHOCÓ Raspadura is a small town in the department of Chocó located in the municipality of Unión Panamericana, on the road that connects Itsmina with Quibdó, its population does not exceed 4,000 inhabitants, and its houses surround the church that is located in the center of the town. Within this town their houses surround the church; this church is located in the central part of the town, where many people pray to the holy Eccohomo, a Holy also venerated in Holy Eccehomo Monastery – Villa de Leyva; one of the historical monuments of this town, it is made up of two towers, beautiful windows and upon entering it is a quiet and wonderful place.
Also around the church, there are numerous wooden and concrete houses that show the old architecture and contrast with its cobbled streets.
Since the arrival of the Holy Eccehomo, more than 200 years ago, the history of Raspadura was rewritten and everything that the town is was founded on its religious history, the life that the Raspadurans live has been based on the religious culture.

This church as a tourist place is recommended, to make prayers and petitions to the holy Ecce homo.
Where the few houses that are in the place surround it, their houses are mostly made of wood and other materials.

the Typical meals of Chocó are delicious as cheese soup is an excellent typical dish, this soup has a lot of cheese, pasta, and potato, it soup is seasoned with garlic, onion, also we can find in the Caribbean coast in Colombia a beautiful place to enjoy, the fried fish is another of the more delicious dishes in its gastronomy, species such as Bocachico, Nicuro, and Mojarra, on the other hand, the Corn rice with shrimp, this is another of the typical dishes of Chocó, the ingredient is corn, it's ground to get the juice, for the rice then it is mixed with the shrimp, but if you to want the Jujú, it's made up of fried balls of green plantain and many kinds of cheese, very popular and also very tasty for to eat.
