This document is deposited & exhibited at the Municipal Museum of Algeciras.

• Español: Bando fechado el 4 de abril de 1906 y firmado por el alcalde de Algeciras (España), Emilio Santacana y Mensayas, anunciando la clausura de la Conferencia Internacional sobre Marruecos celebrada en esta localidad durante los primeros meses de 1906. Este documento se encuentra depositado y expuesto en el Museo Municipal de Algeciras.

En la parte superior de la plaza se encuentran los escudos de las trece naciones participantes en la conferencia y abajo el escudo de la Ciudad de Algeciras. En el texto se lee:
«ALGECIREÑOS
Próximo ya el dia de clausura de la memorable Conferencia Internacional
sobre Marruecos, se cree vuestro Alcalde en el deber de hacer una vez más pú-
blica manifestación del agradecimiento de esta Ciudad por la alta honra obtenida
al ser designada para lugar donde los ilustres Delegados de las Naciones convo-
cadas, debían celebrar sus sesiones.
Algeciras, dentro de su modesta categoría, en justa correspondencia á tanta
distinción, ha hecho cuanto le ha sido dable por recivir y atender a los huéspe-
des que durante tres meses próximamente ha tenido la satisfacción de albergar
en su recinto, si no en la medida que ellos merecían, por lo menos de una
manera que demostrara el vivo deseo sentido de que su estancia en
esta Ciudad les fuese grata, y vuestro Alcalde se complace en manifestar que los
(e)sfuerzos realizados no han sido estériles, pues ha oído de boca de las altas y
(dis)tinguidas personalidades que nos han honrado con su presencia, frases genero-
(sas) y halagüeñas relativas á nuestro pueblo.
La buena voluntad, el agrado y la cortesía de los vecinos en general, han
(c)ontribuido al feliz éxito conseguido; y no porque tal conducta fuese esperada, de-
ja esta Alcaldía de considerarla digna de alabanza.
De hoy más, el nombre de Algeciras figurará en los anales de la Historia
universal y á sus antiguos timbres, unirá la gloria de haberse celebrado dentro
de sus muros una trascendental Conferencia, concluida con general satisfacción y
aplauso, bajo la presidencia de España en la persona del ilustre Ministro de Es-
tado Excmo. Sr. Duque de Almodóvar del Rio. Por ello debe esta Ciudad mostrar-
se orgullosa y reconocida.
Al ausentarse de esta Ciudad los Excmos. y dignos representantes de Ale-
mania, Austria, Bélgica, Estados Unidos, Francia, Inglaterra, Italia, Ma-
rruecos, Paises Bajos, Portugal, Rusia y Suecia, una vez terminada su delicada é
importante misión, esta Alcaldía se hace eco del sentir unánime de toda la po-
blación para dirigirles en su nombre un cortés y respetuoso saludo de despedida
y para desearles en sus futuros destinos, toda suerte de venturas, y éxitos aná-
logos al presente en pró de la concordia universal.
