Toitumisonkoloogia (nutritional oncology) on interdistsiplinaarne uurimisvaldkond, mis käsitleb vähkkasvaja teket ja arengut mitmeastmelise protsessina, mille erinevatesse etappidesse on võimalik sekkuda toitumuslike teguritega. Toitumisonkoloogia hõlmab nii vähkkasvaja ennetust kui ka patsiendi elukvaliteedi, klassikalise ravi tulemuslikkuse ja haiguse kordumisriski mõjutamist tõestatud toimega looduslike vähivastaste ainetega, sh taimses toidus sisalduvate flavonoididega.
