The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads to Brazil for the first time on March 25 and 26.
Kiwi Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans is expecting his team to do better in the Sao Paulo E-Prix after it failed to score points in the last two races in Cape Town.
Jaguar needs a strong weekend to challenge the TAG Heuer Porsche team which tops the Constructors’ Championship so far with Jaguar 84 points behind in sixth.
“We have demonstrated that the Jaguar I-Tyoe 6 has very good pace and efficiency, so will be focussed on maximising this to build points and momentum in round six in Sao Paulo,” says Jaguar team principal James Barclay, adding that the past few races enabled the team to learn and develop it Gen3 car and processes.

ABB says it’s fitting as FE’s official charging partner to be involved in the demonstration of future e-mobility in Brazil.
It was named among the 100 most influential companies in mobility in the country in 2021, according to a survey by Connected Smart Cities and O Estado de Sao Paulo.
ABB’s e-mobility business has grown in Brazil, driven by increased adoption of EV fleets including last mile fleets, with vehicles such as electric trucks, vans and delivery vans.
Projects that have contributed to this growth include ABB’s collaboration with energy company EDP Smart and automotive manufacturer Audi where ABB DC Wallbox chargers were installed at Audi dealerships across the country.
Brazil has a 47% increase in EV sales in the first two months of 2023 (compared with 2022) according to ABVE – The Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles.

It’s modernising drive systems for motors and electric pumps with Saneago, a sanitation company in Goiás. ABB provided a digital solution comprising intelligent sensors which work together with 15 electric motors and frequency inverters to control speed and optimize energy consumption, enabling savings of more than 6000MWh annually.
And ABB has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Ceará (CE) to develop a hub for the production of green hydrogen in the state.
The ABB FIA FE series next goes to Berlin for a double-header on April 22 and 23.
