EW's editorial guidelines Published on February 7, 2024 01:56PM EST Daredevil is back, and he's brought his old friends with him. New set photos from the upcoming Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again show Charlie Cox back in the red suit as Hell's Kitchen's premier crimefighter. And in a pleasant surprise, they also show Cox side-by-side with his old costars Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson. That's right — Karen Page and Foggy Nelson are officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The canonical status of Daredevil and its sister shows (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, and The Punisher) was always a bit vague back when they originally aired on Netflix. But in recent years, Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio (who plays Daredevil's archenemy, the Kingpin) have been making appearances in official MCU projects like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, and Echo. Now they'll be back in the spotlight along with their supporting cast. In addition to Woll and Henson, Wilson Bethel is also back as another classic Daredevil foe, Bullseye. METROPOLIS/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images It wasn't always clear that Woll and Henson would be part of the Daredevil revival. In November 2022, Woll said on the Inside of You podcast that "they have not called me yet. So, as of now, I am not a part of it." But the show has since been creatively retooled, with original head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman departing the project last October. The series will now be directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who previously worked on Moon Knight and Loki season 2. Cox has said that Born Again will be "dark" but not "gory." In a recent interview with EW, D'Onofrio said that Born Again was taking tonal lessons from Echo. "The reception of Echo so far is helping everybody understand that this is a really good tone for Daredevil too," D'Onofrio told EW. "I think Born Again is heading in that direction in a major way now. Charlie and I have always felt that our characters are best seen not in a grotesquely violent way, but in a smartly violent way." There is still no official premiere date for Daredevil: Born Again, but we can enjoy these photos for now. Charlie Cox. Jose Perez/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images Charlie Cox.
