Ireland AM presenter Elaine Crowley has revealed that she never knew she had ‘an issue’ with telling her left from her right until she started dance rehearsals.
The Cork native has been announced as one of the 11 celebrities taking to the dance floor in 2025 as the new season of Dancing with the Stars kicks off.
Elaine was announced on Friday’s Late Late Show alongside four other stars including KIN actress Yasmin Seky, and chef Kevin Dundon.
IRELAND AM SURPRISE
The DWTS hopeful was left shocked on Saturday’s Ireland AM as judge Brian Redmond appeared as a surprise guest on the show.
Extending congratulations to the presenter, Brian revealed he had heard positive things from Elaine’s professional dancer partner — who has yet to be revealed.
The judge told Elaine he had been speaking to her dance partner who gave a ‘little wink’ when asked how the pair were getting on.
‘I think he’s quite happy with how things are going so far,’ Brian said, with Elaine noting: ‘I think he might be trying to psych you out.’
‘Maybe,’ Brian responded, ‘But he seemed pretty confident.’
‘CAN’T CONTROL ANYTHING’
Revealing her fears, Elaine told of how she ‘can’t control anything’ during dance rehearsals.
Brian tried to reassure the presenter as he noted many viewers at home won’t realise that oftentimes he can hear the professional dancers shouting the instructions even during the live performances.
‘I never knew I had an issue between my right and my left and I discovered it two weeks ago,’ Elaine said.
‘You’re probably in trouble then,’ Brian confirmed.
DWTS 2025
The new season of the RTÉ celebrity dance competition returns in January with Doireann Garrihy and Jennifer Zamparelli returning as presenters.
This year, Brian and his fellow judges Loraine Barry and Arthur Gourounlian will be joined by two-time DWTS champion Karen Byrne on the judging panel.
Alongside Elaine, Yasmin and Kevin, the other celebrities vying for the Glitterball are Eurovision star Mickey Joe Harte, taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley, comedian Gearóid Farrelly, Mrs Brown’s Boys actor Danny O’Carroll, former Miss Universe Ireland Aishah Akorede, TikTokker Kayleigh Trappe, Olympic Gold Medallist Rhys McClenaghan and meterologist Joanna Donnelly.
