Doireann Garrihy and Mark Mehigan have travelled to the southwest coast to spend their first Christmas as Mr and Mrs by the sea.
The pair, joined by beloved dog Bertie and Doireann’s mum and dad, enjoyed their first Christmas as newlyweds in Doolin, Co Clare following a hectic few months for the couple.
The pair tied the knot in the luxurious K Club in Co Kildare at the end of November with their close friends and family, including Doireann’s former 2FM co-hosts Donncha O’Callaghan and Carl Mullan.
RELAXED
The former 2FM breakfast DJ and the comedian were first rumoured to be an item in December 2022, after they were spotted enjoying a night away together at the Powerscourt Hotel.
Now, after an unforgettable honeymoon and memories of a wedding that will last a lifetime, the happy couple looked more than delighted to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life as they relaxed by the water.
Sharing a sneak peek into their Christmas Day, the presenter shared a series of snaps which included some shots from their coastal walk, a cute photo with hubby Mark and a shot of Dad Eugene and Bertie, who was more than happy to be the centre of attention.
FESTIVE
Doireann enjoyed some festive treats with her family and even settled in — like most of the country — to watch the Gavin and Stacey finale!
Posting a simple message on her Instagram story, the 33-year-old wrote: ‘Happy Christmas from a wild Doolin’.
The intimate trip to Clare comes after parents Clare and Eugene hosted all three of the Garrihy girls for a ‘Christmas Soiree‘ in their Castleknock home earlier in the week.
CHRISTMAS SOIREE
Hosting an afternoon of festive activities, Clare welcomed daughters Aílbhe, Aoibhínn and recently married Doireann alongside their families to enjoy a turkey and ham feast as well as a much-needed catch-up.
With tall candles, leafy festive centre-pieces, and red confetti strewn across the plates, Clare’s table was something to behold, really knocking the yuletide theme out of the park.
All three of the Garrihy girls stunned fans with Áilbhe taking to her social media to show off her fitted black co-ord look, admitting that she went ‘full glam’ for the last Garrihy get-together before she ‘heads away’ Christmas.
For the event, Aoibhin wowed fans as she chose to wear a form-fitting polka-dot dress with heels and a black belt.
