Fresh, Light, and Easy Fruit in the Air Fryer
Air Fryer Fresh Fruit Recipe
Craving a naturally sweet treat with just a touch of indulgence? This air fryer fruit medley features fresh pineapple, mango, and apricot tossed in a brown sugar-orange glaze and finished with coconut or chopped nuts. It tastes like a tropical baked dessert—without heating up your oven. Perfect for summer BBQs, brunches, or when you need something easy but impressive!
Ingredients and Supplies Needed to Make this Recipe
This recipe works best with firm fruits that hold their shape while cooking. Avoid melons or overly ripe fruit that may get mushy.

- Apricot chunks
- Brown sugar
- Orange juice
- Ground cinnamon

Supplies
- Air fryer (390°F capable)
- Mixing bowl
- Silicone spatula or spoon

Fruit to use
This air fryer recipe is tasty and so fresh! You can use just about any fresh fruit besides melons. You will want about 1 cup of each for about 3 cups total of fruit. Of course, feel free to adapt the amount to your taste. To keep the proportions right with the glaze, though, stay around 3 cups of fruit. I’ve made this recipe with:
- Fresh pineapples
- Mangoes
- Apples (Granny smith or Honey crisp are great options)
- Pears
- Nectarines
You can also use apricots, peaches, plums, bananas, strawberries, or blueberries.
Spices to add desired flavors
If you want to change up the flavor for air fryer fruit recipes, you can always add different spices that will help accentuate the fruit’s natural sweetness and add even more flavor!
My favorites to use are cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple pie spice. Cardamom, and even pumpkin pie spice would also be fantastic, depending the fruit that is being used and the season.
Also, tossing the fruit in melted coconut oil can add a bunch of delicious flavor and healthy fat!
How to make Air Fryer Fresh Fruit
Step 1: Make orange brown sugar glaze
Of course, you can simply fry the fruit in the air fryer. But if you want to level up your experience, then you have to try this glaze. It is incredibly easy and enhances the taste of the fruit.
For the glaze, you will need:
- Brown sugar
- Orange juice
- Cinnamon
Mix the ingredients together until well combined.
Step 2: Coat fruit in glaze
Once the glaze has been made, drizzle it over the fruit. Be sure to thoroughly cover all of the fruit. You can even let it marinate for a few minutes while you heat the air fryer to bring out more tasty flavors.
Step 3: Air fry fruit
Once your fruit and glaze is marinating, preheat the air fryer to 390°F or 198°C for 5 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Add the fruit, then air fry for 4 minutes.
After 4 minutes, check on your fruit and test for your desired texture inside the fruit.
If you want to cook longer, this is when you can add a little bit of oil to help it brown (this is optional), and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes. You can adjust the cooking time to be shorter or longer depending on how done you want your fruit to be.
Step 4: How to serve up fried fruit
Carefully remove the fruit from the air fryer and top with coconut or chopped nuts if desired.
This fruit serves perfectly as a quick and tasty afternoon snack. Or, you can enjoy it as a dinner side with dishes like pulled pork, hamburgers, pork chops, or grilled chicken. It would also make a unique side dish for a potluck or holiday meal, rather than standard raw fruit salad
This recipe is so good that you could eat it for dessert. Just top it with some whipped cream, cottage cheese, or ice cream! The options are endless!
