Billie Eilish reveals she’s “almost done” on third album
Pop superstar Billie Eilish has provided a positive update on her upcoming third album, revealing its “almost done”.
The forthcoming record from Eilish is set to serve as the follow-up to 2021’s Happier Than Ever, which topped the charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. Although it’s been over two years since her last album, Eilish offered the track ‘What Was I Made For?’ to the Barbie soundtrack earlier this year.
Ahead of her appearance as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on December 16th, which is set to be hosted by former cast member Kate McKinnon, Eilish stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
During their conversation, Eilish revealed her next LP is “almost done,” however, she refrained from offering further details. She added: “At some point, you will know more, but I’m not going to say anything.”
Eilish’s latest comments arrive after an appearance on The Cookout in September when the singer-songwriter promised: “There is lots of music coming. There is a whole album of music coming, and we’re in the final stages of making it.”
She also explained there was no timeline in place for a potential release date, adding: “That doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there, and it’s very exciting.”
Meanwhile, during a recent discussion with Vanity Fair, Eilish proudly spoke about her performance on ‘What Was I Made For?’. “I had this exact vision for what I wanted it to sound like, and I got it there,” she said of the song.
Instead of projecting her voice in a “choral” style, Eilish opted for an understated whisper to suit the “heartbroken” tone. “I feel really proud,” she continued. “If I can be honest, I feel like it’s one of my best vocal performances I’ve ever given.”
