The Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards by Tori Hartman (affiliate link)
and Watkins Publishing is one of my favorite oracle card decks.
Hartman’s inspiration for the deck is a result of her own spiritual journey that began with a near-death experience more than 25 years ago.
The Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards set includes:
- 49 cards
- a how-to book for using the cards
- a meditation for each card
- a beautiful box for storing everything
Each of the 49 cards coincides with one of the seven chakras (so there are seven cards assigned to each chakra).
The cards are about 4.5 inches x 3 inches in size, which makes them easy to shuffle. They are made from a thicker paper stock so they are durable and less likely to bend. However, I find that if I shuffle a lot, the thickness of the card stock irritates my hands.
Still, the set is wonderful and beautifully designed. The card art — by Gretchen Raisch-Baskin — is vibrant and everything you’d expect from an oracle set based on the rainbow colors of the seven chakras.
The art also is descriptive of each card, making them easy to read even without the help of the accompanying guidebook. I love this feature because I always meditate on my initial impressions of card images before peeking at the book.
The guidebook is thoughtfully designed. It measures approximately 6.5 inches x 4.5 inches and begins with an introduction of information on how the set came to be, how to set intentions and how to meditate with the cards.
From there, the book is divided into each of the seven chakras. Each chapter begins with an at-a-glance style overview of the cards in that chakra, pertinent keywords and thoughts on how that particular chakra can help manifest your intention.
The book includes a page for each card which explains:
- the fable associated with the card
- inspirational words related to the card
- personal questions to use for inner reflection
- the card’s key ideas
- keywords associated with the card
- a suggested meditation
The book concludes with ideas for divination spreads, including standard one- and three-card layouts plus six intention spreads and a chakra spread. Graphics showing card placement are included as well as explanations of what each spot means.
Here’s a little video I did, showing you my personal set of Chakra Wisdom Oracle Cards:
For a free preview of the cards, you can register at Hartman’s Chakra Wisdom Oracle website and receive free online readings with the cards. Of course, the information isn’t as in-depth as the guidebook provides but it’s a fun way to sneak a peek at the different cards and receive an online oracle reading at the same time!
If you wish to purchase the set, Amazon.com usually has a very competitive price (affiliate link) on this deck.
