How to make Daniel Fast Meals
Hey Foodies,
The other time, we explored some fruits, nuts, and legumes that are consumable during a Daniel Fast. We also mentioned some salad styles, smoothies, and food mixes you could try out. We know Daniel Fasts can be very demanding; first, you battle picking what you can eat or not eat. You may also have to deal with where to source ingredients from, help with questions to ask vendors, and many other things. To ease the burden off you, we would be sharing some meals you can make from the comfort of your home.
Oats with Coconut: Oat is super easy to make. All you need to do is boil some water. When the water is hot enough, pour in your oats, mix and stir. Rinse and cut your coconut into bits or use coconut flakes and you are ready to go. Don’t forget to use almond milk to fulfill the Daniel Fast obligation, you could also add some watermelons or other fruits to the bowl.
Yam and Vegan Sauce: Slice your yam into whatever shape works for you. Rinse and put it into the pot. Add some water and allow the yam to boil. While you wait for this, get your onions and bell peppers- green, yellow, and red bell pepper. Rinse and slice vertically or whatever shape interests you. For this, you need some olive oil and some natural seasoning. Avoid chicken/shrimp flavored seasonings. Fry the pepper and onion for a while and add natural seasoning. Cover and let it steam for some minutes. Make sure the yam is as soft as it can be. You could also use sweet potatoes in place of yam. You are good to go.
For this, you can also fry some plantain with olive oil. Avoid using too much oil. You can use some tomatoes and onions for the sauce. Try as much vegan-friendly alternatives as you can.
Tigernut Juice: This juice is gotten from tiger nuts and dates as well as other fruits you deem suitable in your proportion. You could use coconut and ginger. All you need to do is blend the fruits and extract the juice. You are good to go. Make sure to have it chilled.
Carrot Soup with Mushrooms: This is one of the easiest meals to make. All you need are some carrots, natural seasonings, and mushrooms. Wash and slice your carrots. Put some water on the stove, and allow it to boil. Once that is done, put in your carrots and mushroom, then add your seasoning. Let it boil for 10 more minutes. You can add some onions and cabbage to make it taste better.
