Derek B Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Can anybody tell me what the kit number is for this one? Kev Hi Kev, According to our LSP HLJ link (http://www.hlj.com/product/HOB83209), it is HOB83209. Cheers Derek
LSP_Kevin Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks Derek! Vandy beat you to the punch with a PM though. Thanks Vandy! Kev
Puncher 75 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Kevin, do you require a scan of the box top? Ken
LSP_Kevin Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Kevin, do you require a scan of the box top? Ken Thanks for the offer Ken, but I was able to massage the photo that Phill posted here for the purpose. Kev
jacksdad64 Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I hope someone does decals for 'The Spook' Uncarina 1
Iain Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 (edited) Erm - I was going to wait - but being the weak willed sucker I am I've succumbed and blagged one (£100 incl. shipping) - should arrive next week. Will prolly make my own decals - just need to decide on which one... Thinking my only other new purchase this year will be the B-17 (probably) - but don't hold me to that! Have we ever had it so good? Iain Edited March 26, 2013 by 32SIG Derek B and Saber 2
jacksdad64 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Funny that Iain. I was just thinking the same thing. For those of us lucky enough to work in man scale we really are spoilt for choice when you consider what was available even 10 years ago. We really are lucky boys.
Fred Jack Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I'll also stay with WnW for the tIke being. 120 bucks ain't bad, but you add all the bucks of the correcting after market stuff and you are looking at 200 bucks.

One could just build WnW for years and be happy...but I ordered a '61 anyway. Looks like it'll build up pretty nice OOB. That's my plan, at any rate. Once Brookhurst ships it! :) Tim W.
jacksdad64 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 So for the guys in the know, what if anything do I need to do to the kit to do the NMF one in this link? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151002499668 Thanks in advance. Steve
Derek B Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 So for the guys in the know, what if anything do I need to do to the kit to do the NMF one in this link? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151002499668 Thanks in advance. Steve Hi Steve, I think that this is meant to represent a development P-61A Black Widow. Northrop's 'house colours' was often ident yellow nose radome, engine cowls and spinners (see photographs below). Most of the time, they used the two XP-61 prototypes and a number of YP-61 development aircraft for these tasks, although they later managed to use some productionn P-61A and B aircraft in order to develop later marks of P-61 Black Widows.
Derek B Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) However, there was one P-61A Black Widow that was NMF and used in the operational theatre of war, and it is this one: HTH Derek Edited March 27, 2013 by Derek B
Rowen Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Check this out: http://www.amazon.com/1-32-P-61B-Black-Widow/dp/B00AH6S4B4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1364411931&sr=8-1&keywords=hobby+boss+p-61 Whew! A tad pricey! LOL! -Ro
jacksdad64 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Many thanks for your help Derek. I think I will have to do a bit more digging around for more info on the aircraft on the magazine cover as I really fancy doing something different as opposed to black or OD. Steve Derek B 1
Kagemusha Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The NM aircraft was the personal transport of MGEN (Major General?) Earl W Barnes http://warbirdinformationexchange.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=487737
