Flyin' Miata NB on Bring a Trailer

Flyin' Miata is selling Project Ron. Where will the selling price end up for this rolling FM parts catalog?

Accident damage, lots o now, used parts, and FM's good name all spell more $$$$ than same car with Bob's good name.

"Used parts"? The build was done between July and Oct 2023 (videos were released weeks after work was done, due to editing). Not exactly used, and I'm certain FM will honor all warranties regarding the stuff installed.

As for the accident damage, I have to admit I was not aware of that, but now I understand why the FM guys told me that "most everything took longer than it should have"...

If I had the coin, I'd give Mr. Mustang plenty of trouble. As it is, Go Mr. Mustang, GO!

Sorry, that's still "used" in my mind. Build and immediately sell is not "used". Regardless, new owner will enjoy. I'm curious as to what their "warranty" is. I couldn't find it on their site but that's probably my lack of search skill.

Yeah, opinions are like armpits. We all have one and they all smell...
Basically two years in all their stuff, except the Foxes, those only get 1 year after purchase. Of course FM did not get to be where they are by sticking to hard numbers. I had my own disagreements with them, by keeping a cool head we all came out satisfied. FM is a Co-op run (and owned) by a bunch of reasonable peeps.

Lots of nice goodies. Way more fun than an original trailer queen.

New parts, used parts, minor crash damage (it is minor), it's still a fun build that I could not duplicate for my current bid.

, no kidding Captain Obvious.

My Friend, obviously your current bid is not a "buy" bid, it's an "out of respect" bid. Honestly Bill, I've got no clue where this will end up. If I try to use some logic to determine value:

Base 03 with minor accident damage: $9k
Turbo system: $5k
Labor: $4k
Other goodies + labor: $4500

Total: $22.5k.

FM good name Bonus +20%

So, my rectally extracted guess is about $27k. Is this reasonable? But I do know that at $27k, the owner will have fun for a very long time and most likely, few if any, regrets.

That would be a huge FM name tax. I predict this goes for about 20k.

Starting to approach LS swapped car prices at $27k.

Wow, people certainly are getting excited over a modified car. If this was mine and all the work had been done by FM, people would not be throwing out the kind of numbers for the modifications. The wheels suck, the turbo setup is only producing 200 RWHP on stock injectors which is stressing their duty cycle, needs aftermarket engine controls which aren't CARB compliant so can't be installed. The rest of the bolt on stuff wouldn't require anywhere near the labor numbers being tossed around. I don't think it breaks $20K and if it does, someone paid a lot of money to be able to brag they are driving project Ron. And I'm a huge FM fan, some of my cars are featured in one of Keith's books and their work is impeccable but in the end, it's still just a nicely sorted used turbo car with 88K miles and accident history (no matter how minor, it's in the records).

I don't mind being the curmudgeon here and will probably be wrong because BaT makes no sense to me, ever.

The wheels suck? How so?
Have you people even watched the series? FM practically threw their catalog at this car!
Car was based lined, performance parts for: engine, suspension, transmission and brakes were installed. Cooling performance parts added along with stiffening parts.

And just because it is currently running on Link, doesn't mean that an MS3 can't be swapped in it's place. In parts ALONE this car has close to $20K at retail prices!

They should have pulled the graphics off and washed the car before listing, not doing so shows some hubris IMHO.

People pay too much for FM cars on BAT so I'll guess $22.5k.

This car is so yesterday, I've already moved on to another shiny bauble on BAT.

I enjoyed watching the build on their youtube channel...it's what I would do to my NB if I had the time and $$$...ok I'd go the little extra and go with a standalone ECU and tune. But this will go for way more than I would pay for a 21 year old miata

Two things bother me in this thread-

That The Driver apparently has only one armpit and no one seems to care

The TURBO lettering on the hood should be going the other way

Maybe he drives an automatic or is steering with his foot while shifting with his one and only arm?

To many miles/patina/accident for me to command a premium.
I wouldn't pay more then 20K, though I have spoken to some potential bidders who are willing to go the distance.
For me 190 horses wouldn't scratch that itch when it comes to engine mods.

$25.5k and 2 hours to go. That's just stupid money for that car. Nice but not worth that much.
