Apple Offers Free Two-Hour Holiday Delivery on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch Orders

Apple is offering free two hour delivery when customers purchase any Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, or Mac, which is ideal for last minute shoppers.

Through December 24 at 4:00 p.m. local time, customers who live in an area where courier delivery is available can get their orders for free. Apple normally charges $9 for same-day courier delivery.

Apple says that its courier delivery is available "in most metros," and it applies to the total order whenever an Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, or Mac is ordered. AirPods aren't available for free courier delivery on a standalone order basis, but can be included with other purchases.

For deliveries that do not include an Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone, or Mac, courier options are still available, but Apple is charging the standard $9 fee. Delivery cutoff is December 24 in most areas, but Apple says that December 25th delivery is available in New York City, Las Vegas, and Hawaii.

Those who are not in an area where courier delivery is available can still get items before Christmas by using in-store pickup options.

What a world. You can lay in bed on a super computer, order another super computer with face authentication and by the time you've gotten dressed and watched some Rick and Morty streamed over the Internet to a giant television, a person knocks on your door to delivery something built in China just a few days ago which is 2X faster than your year old super computer with 2 extra cameras and faster face authentication and better water proofing.

seriously what a time to be alive.

EDIT: Also applies to how freaking awesome our dual core Dick Tracy watches are that can also be ordered on your super computer.

I live in one of the biggest cities in my state and I was curious if Apple offered this where I am even though the closest Apple Store is located halfway between me and another large city.

Answer? I have no idea. The MR article only links to other MR pages and Apple’s homepage says nothing about this offer.

You can put something in your cart to see if courier delivery is available where you live. Apple doesn't have a list we can link to or anything.

Select any applicable item on Apple’s website, or in the Apple Store app. Click buy. Choose desired options, Before you get to the payment details, they’ll present shipping/pickup options. Which will make it apparent whether they can deliver that particular item to your general location in 2 hours, or not. It’s not rocket science.

(People do this all the time to run what-if scenarios on various buildouts.)

I’m more curious to know who they’ve got doing the delivery service for them.

Really, as someone born in 70's and seen the evolution of technology from finger dial to butt dial, this post makes perfect sense! Todays smartphones are equal to what we called super computers just 2 decades ago.

To be honest, I don’t of any other retailer that can deliver this type of promise for last minute gift ideas. Two hours _and_ it’s
Free. Obviously the biggest caveat is living within the courier service range.

Apple’s courier service is running right up to Christmas Eve in all areas of operation & on Christmas Day in select markets; also they are currently waiving the standard $9 fee = helpful news to many.
You used this deal last week = unnecessary & unhelpful information to anyone.

At a complete loss why you believe the latter negates the former...
 
MacRumors is usually quite good at mentioning region availability etc. I assume this doesn't apply outside the US? You know you do have international readers, right?

I suspect it works in those areas where it doesn't really matter. I helped my neighbor get a new 16-MBP, and we selected 2-hour delivery. But the newest Apple Store is less than 2 miles away. Didn't have to worry about parking downtown, or wait around in a (what we both consider) too noisy Apple Store. But he was buying it even if we had to get in the car.

The funny thing is consumer stores had delivery before WWII. It was the post-war self-service store and car boom that ended it. What's old is new again.

Available here in the suburbs. Nearest Apple store is 20 minutes away at a mall with always bad parking. They're using those couriers like Dynamex and OnTrac that Amazon used before they in-housed.

No kidding. $9 is a steal already, and kinda makes this "free delivery" a bit of a cheap gift. I find the "two hours" more amazing than anything else. That's Amazon-level logistics!

I was about 13 when our household switched from pulse dialing to tone dialing. My parents couldn't understand why that was important, and I switched the house over without asking permission. hahahaha

My Wife's V1 watch was getting weak on battery. Our mall is always a mess so I checked the app yesterday morning and was surprised to see the free 2 hour delivery. I ordered right then and within 1 hour, received a ping on my watch with a 5 minute ETA. I walked outside and get the handoff from "John" and the watch is under the tree. Pretty amazed at the whole experience!

Regarding super computers, my friend used to work for Cray, we have come a long way from those magical times. What do you call a device with what? a billion transistors in it? currently? a phone.

That's it! When time traveling, I used to explain the future of technology to people in the past by saying, "in the future, we have a worldwide network for the instantaneous communication of all knowledge - we mostly use it for sharing pictures of cats".

Now I can tell them, "you have to use your finger to dial the phone - in the future, we can do that with our butts!"

I was absolutely amazed with my last Amazon delivery. Ordered Saturday and it shows one day for Sunday. Wasn't too sure especially when it still stated label created late Saturday. It got to USPS 4:35AM Sunday, went to the hub and was delivered at NINE AM. 4h 25m!!! That's some plaid Spaceballs Ludicrous speed!

Especially when your parents' number has a 7 and 8 and two 9s and nothing under 5 in it.
