It's actually made of high density foam. My wife has ridden on it a few times and said it's not that bad. |

Minor gripe, but that pillion seat (if that's in fact what it is) looks utterly useless.
It looks like a single seater that still has pillion pegs for some reason.
Otherwise very nice. |

oh good you found them. I'll have to take a good picture of the rear section so you can really see the custom tail light holderand turn signals. |

Maybe it's just the angle of the pictures, but I can't seem to see indicators or a rear tail/brake light. Are they something you're going to add?
The paint job does a really good job of camouflaging the remaining body lines of the 250 panels / tank. It's quite hard to tell what it is unless you know what you're looking at. I like what you've done with the seat / rear end - that look is what some people strive for and it's probably the most production-looking tail I've seen grafted onto an ex250.
One thing with the dual headlight opening is you're cutting down on what's already lame light output with the center divider. It does look neat though.
Edit: Appears that you've got a taillight and indicators - just had to peek at the pictures posted lower to spot them. Looking good. |

;p okay, I will get off my high horse; anyways, my 2nd complaint (well, not really one) but the front looks like Mad's Magazine's Spy vs Spy.
anyway, the REAR is freaking awesome! |

It's actually kinda funny, it is using the same bracket and headlamp. The new fairing makes it look like there are 2 lamps. When I was having it redone, i couldn't decide on wich headlamps to use. So we set it up so i can have 2 separate lamps in the future once i decide the ones i want. so for now it is using the stock parts. |

So tell us about the front end? Did you modify the existing headlamp bracket to hold two headlamps? How was plastic mod done? |

Thanks. Yeah i left the front fender plain. I can always go back and add the silver trim if i need to. didn't want to over do it. Carbs got re jetted and took out the old airbox for a K& N filter. On the seat it is actually 2 different fabrics stiched together. The exhaust is sick. Sounds like a way bigger bike. real throaty. Still have stock tires cause it's hard to find a rear to work with the stock wheels. diddn't change the swing arm so i can't get to big a tire in there. If you know of any that would fit on the stock wheels let me know. |

That's a great design that looks very well executed. I love the graphics. Obviously the undertail exhaust is the exciting part for us, but I imagine the new nose took quite a bit of work too.
I assume the carbs were replumbed? The front fender didn't get the nifty silver barb paint treatment? Maybe silver rimtape or paint? Is the seat painted or is that separate pieces of different colored material stitched together? How does the new exhaust sound? What will you do with the bike now? Why do you still have crappy stock tires? |

The headpipe is off an XR400 (older Honda dirt bike), and the aft pipes and mufflers are off a Honda CRF250R (newer race dirt bike that revs 14000 RPM same as the Ninja 250). The head pipe only had to be messaged a little. |

Here is a shot of the custom frame and exhaust. What he did was cut the stock frame and raise it up so it could fit the new exhaust under the seat. you can see in the pic where it was cut and welded.

Hey all, thought you might like to see what 3 years worth of work produced on my 01 ninja 250. all new custom fairings, custom underseat exhaust. Frame was reworked as well to allow exhaust. Rejetted carbs and put on K&N air filter. My Uncle did all the work on this and it came out amazing. If anyone is looking to update the look of their older 250 with new fairings let me know. I can put you in contact with him. Any way I would love to hear what you think of the bike or answer any questions about it.
