Is it April fools day in October? This is a sure fire fail.

I never found Cavill a good casting for Geralt, yet must admit he did all he could do to fit the role and ultimately him and Chalotra flawless boobs were the only two good things of the show

RIP another cool license ruined by Netflix cunts

Hope Musk will buy Netflix next, don't even like Musk but dat 90% high levels decapitation would do wonders to Netflix lol

He was too bulky for Geralt but he loves the game and the lore so I'm not even mad. Fassbender would have been a great Geralt.

Are there black people in warhammer? Female space marines?

One of my fav Primarchs, Vulkan, is "black". He's one of the genetically created sons of The Emperor.

His Salamanders legion are all dark skinned. They're from a volcanic planet ("Death World") called Nocturne.

The Emperor, btw, always looked Native American to me, but he was born near Mesopotamia in the 8th millennium BC, so is probably Persian-ish

Yes. One of Eisenhorn's best friends and pilot is a black dude.

Very explicitly NO. But there are nuns with guns:

Nice!

lol, even the nuns are epic. "Adepta Sororitas". I love 40k!

I thought Vulkan was reverse Kratos? He is like charcoal in color.

He is described as the color of soot. There is an ethnic group in India that has skin with the complexion described in the book. I can't think of their name right now.

Yeah, as a seed of the emperor, he's not ethnically black, hence the quotations. In such a galaxy-wide universe, it's more a post racial society. If the Emperor is a compilation of several shamans (has that been confirmed by the lore?), and his seed populated so much of the Space Marine through his directly seeded Primarchs, it doesn't make sense for so many of them to be white/pale.

I'd assume most space marines are of a whitish tone because of the creators ethnicity, and keeping paintings simpler.

There really isn't much in the way of visual storytelling outside games. Hopefully that changes sooner than later.

Season 2 had a serious lack of boobs

Season 2 was painful to watch. Writers shat on source material wherever they could, replacing original plot with generic woke shit. I liked Henry, and the girl who plays Ciri, Freya Allan, and that's all.
Henry being the best part of the show at the same time being a huge miscast speaks volumes on the show's quality.
I agree season 2 was a lot worse. Im not watching liam at all that dude is porno level actor who should not be the star of a tv show. Cavill is the only reason any of us still watched

Good for Cavill, that's a sinking ship. Season 1 had lots of potential, I really enjoyed it. There were so many red flags though

I didn't even finish Season 2. You can tell the writers had no respect for the source material. What's worse, like in Rings of Power, the writing was terrible. In defense of ROP, they didn't have novels/dialogue written for them that they could use. They'd surely ruin anything Tolkien anyway, but they were severally limited with what they could do.

Netflix has no excuse, such a trash company. I doubt Witcher runs past S4.

Cavill has talked about wanting to play Eisenhorn in a Warhammer 40k series/film, hopefully this frees him up to pursue it, or other projects in that fandom. There is so much untapped potential in 40k and he's a huge nerd for it. The lore is incredible and there are numerous compelling novels/characters.

At what point do these production companies get the message that it's really fucking stupid to keep hiring people who either don't understand the source material or, in this case, have absolute contempt for it to adapt these IPs horribly and then shit all over the fans who hate all of the unnecessary changes?

Netflix lost one of the highest profile actors in Hollywood for this genre over the stupidity of the writers room that they hired.

This stuff is just mind-boggling.

The entire industry has been fucking up established franchises left and right for the past several years, and they keep doubling down on it.

Yeah his attitude and performance have been great, never debated that, just imho he was't the right person for the character

Lack of Chalotra's boobs specifically, world needs more Chalotra's boobs as long they're in that perfect state

I got to ask.

Who do you think would have done better?

95% of actors nowandays are 5'6" soyboys.

Somebody that would sell better the rugged stray dog look, Cavill ever felt -to me- too "healthy" and well feed to play Geralt (even if i think he played him as good as he could)

Personally i ever liked the idea of Mads as Geralt

for the tremendous actor he is and because i've already seen performances by him that tell me he would have done it greatly

Another would have been Viggo

Both him and Mads have great charisma and can sell the "i've seen lot of shit" look, much better than Cavill, plus both have proven to look credible as warriors and killers

But tbh considering what a netflix-style crapcast Witcher suffered, Cavill was pure gold and deserve praise almost as Chalotra's holy boobs

Not bad choices.

The problem is Mads is very in-demand in Hollywood and probably have not entertained doing a series with a pay-cut. And he's 58.

Same with Viggo, but how many sword-weilding roles has he taken in his career? He's also 64 so the age difference between him and the Yennefer actress would have been quite odd.

Also, could they have developed the physicality to actually do the role at this point in their lives? And would it have taken them a year or more?

Cavill was already in Superman shape, had 10/10 screen presence and acting credentials, and had the passion for the role because of his nerd-love of the games & books.... AND was willing to take the pay cut and who else in Hollywood is willing to do that for a multi-year series that filming takes months for each season?

THAT'S why I say he was the perfect casting.
