Your Favorite Ride flips over and injures 4 people + 1 fatality at an Amusement Park

Six people were on the Raging River water ride at Adventureland Park in Altoona when the circular raft flipped at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Three of the passengers were rushed to hospitals in critical condition while a fourth passenger suffered minor injuries, and an 11-year old boy was killed, the Altoona Police Department said in a statement.

This legit used to be my favorite ride as a kid. I've been on it like 50 times. The deaths sound like they were pretty gnarly too.

Yeah it was fucked up, the conveyor belt was the issue I believe. It was still running when the people fell out.

It's pretty gnarly when you think all this old machinery, this one involving being submerged in water, is being operated by college students who probably aren't mechanics, engineers, or people who give much of a shit, not in this heat.

I watch videos on these types of incidents all the time. Idk why. Some people get the shit end of the stick and are strapped with terrible memories and burdens. FUck

IIRC, the issue was that the raft got caught on a dry part of the final incline in between the conveyor and the departure area, and then another raft got pushed into it, causing it to flip over.

Absolutely brutal deaths though. People got ground up in the gears underneath, and I'm pretty sure a chunk of rescuers got PTSD.
