Springfield Police Department promotes six staff members

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — Six members of the Springfield Police Department were promoted Monday.

Dyle Stokes has been promoted from deputy chief to assistant chief.

Commander Kurt Banks has been promoted from sergeant to lieutenant.

Richard Van Behren has been promoted from sergeant to lieutenant.

Matt Doss, Robert Jones and Scott Ligon have all been promoted from patrol officers to sergeants.

The promotions will go into effect immediately.
